Professor Walter Burkert, the distinguished scholar whose long academic career has been dedicated to the study of ancient Greek religion, gave a lecture on «The Derveni Book. Presocratics, Cosmogonic Mythology and "Orpheus"» at the University of Patras, Thursday May 22 at 6 p.m. Professor W. Burkert was invited by the Centre for the Study of Myth and Religion in Greek and Roman Antiquity, founded by the Department of Philology of the University of Patras. On the same day, at 12.00, Walter Burkert was nominated Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Patras.
